The revenue from the porcelain dolls auction to save the fragile lives of Kampuchean children
Yesterday, the limited edition of 9 porcelain dolls, designed by Boris Hanečka exclusively for this evening were sold-up in SOGA auction hall by UniCredit Bank Private Banking clients and the invited guests.
The revenue from the auction, totally amounting to EURO 13,950, will be given to the humanitarian organization Magna Deti v núdzi (Children at Risk), providing the health and nutrition care to children and adults in developing countries ever since 2001. Thanks to the auction revenue, 48 HIV-positive Kampuchean orphans will get the complete health-care, home-place and education and other 160 children, fighting this malignant disease while living in their families, will get the complete health-care.
The auction was attended by the prominent internal auctionarius of SOGA auction hall, Ms Nina Gažovičová, who has extensive experience with commercial auctions as well as charity auctions. Every single porcelain doll was dressed to exclusive models designed by Boris Hanečka. Professional cosmetologists and stylists took care of the genuine hair and the hand-made make-up of dolls. The auction price of a porcelain doll certified original was EURO 500. Mina porcelain doll, dressed in the exclusive evening robe made of silk chiffon inwrought with Swarovski crystals was the model sold-up at the highest price. Its new owner paid EURO 3800 for it in the auction. Barbarella doll was auctioned-off for EURO 700, Lujza for EURO 800, Brida for EURO 900, Duna for EURO 800, Mira for EURO 1900, Malvína for EURO 850, Lorna for EURO 1700 and Isabel for EURO 2500.
It is the porcelain, of which the 45 cm-tall dolls are made, that is the symbol of fragility of being – giving the name also to this exclusive event connected with the auction, the revenue from which will impact the fragile lives of Kampuchean children. This was probably the first show of its kind ever in the history of world fashion, disproving the fashion vanity speculations.
